Kidnappers free Ondo polytechnic lecturer for N4m, demand N100m ransom for NULGE chieftain

A lecturer with the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Michael Olopete, who was among those who were abducted by kidnappers along Ipele-Owo highway over the weekend has been freed.


According to a source within the polytechnic, the lecturer was freed after the payment of N4 million ransom after the initial demand of N30 million was negotiated.

The source, who explained that the atmosphere in the polytechnic where the lecturer is a member of staff, was that of a pensive mood due to recent death of one of its staff in the kidnapper’s den.
