Barcelona star, Lionel Messi, on Tuesday night made new record in his side’s 4-0 win against PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Champions League Group B clash at the Camp Nou Stadium.
Messi’s hat-trick and a strike from Dembele ensured victory for the La Liga champions.
Messi scored the opener with a brilliant free-kick. He swung the ball over the wall, past goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet and into the top corner from outside 25 yards.
It’s also the eighth goal he’s scored from a direct free-kick in 2018, that’s a new record for the 31-year-old.
The Argentina captain has scored 25 direct free kick goals for Barca in the last five years, at least 10 more than any other player in the top 5 European leagues (all competitions).
